MYAKKA HEAD, Fla. (WWSB) — The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay has issued a flood warning for the Manatee River near Myakka Head at SR 64.Flood warning detailsHeavy rainfall has caused water levels to rise on the Manatee River. The flood warning is in effect as minor flooding is expected Friday. The Manatee River near Myakka Head is forecast to rise above flood stage Friday morning due to recent heavy rain in the area.The flood warning is in effect from Friday morning through late Friday night. The Manatee River is expected to crest at 11.2 feet Friday morning. Water levels will fall below flood stage Friday evening.Residents and property owners in the rural Kibler area and those with private roads and bridges approximately 1 mile downstream from Myakka Head should prepare for potential flooding.
