BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Manatee County plans to replace the aging seawall at Bishop Point Park with a living shoreline project designed to strengthen the waterfront and create habitat for wildlife.The county’s Natural Resources Department said the project will use native vegetation, natural materials and other nature-based features along the water.County officials said living shorelines can help reduce erosion and stabilize the land while working with the natural environment. The project is also intended to improve coastal resiliency and create a habitat for fish and wildlife.Sarasota County invests $25 million to restore Alligator CreekBishop Point Park will close during construction to keep the work area safe, according to the county.Construction is expected to take about 60 to 90 working days.When work is complete, the county said the new shoreline will be designed to protect the land, support wildlife and provide an improved waterfront for the community.More information is availab
